B. G. DESHMUKH IAS AWARD FOR CSR
Mahratta Chamber of Commerce Industries and Agriculture (MCCIA) has initiated `B.G. Deshmukh IAS Award` for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), in the year 2008, which is the Platinum Jubilee Year of the Chamber.
The general impression in the industry sector about CSR is that the social responsibility can be undertaken only where resources are available, hence mostly practiced by corporates and larger ones from the middle enterprises. Though the concept of CSR is now accepted by all, the social responsibility is the responsibility of all – large, medium and even small scale enterprise.
The Award is mainly to give encouragement and recognition to small scale industry. However, corporates and medium enterprises are eligible to apply.
