It is believed that India is agriculture-based country. Though its share in GDP is going down over the years, it still plays a major role in India’s rural economy.

 

 

 

There has been considerable change in the way agriculture is done. Technological advancement, R&D and new sources of investments are playing a key role in changing the façade of agriculture.

 

 

 

In this report, we take account of growth in agriculture in the country, Maharashtra State and Pune region.

With the industrialization and growth of economy, the aviation sector shows the healthy signs too.  International airport at Pune is a long pending issue which is shaping up slowly but surely.

Pune has emerged as a Pharmaceutical Hub. It is now well-known as a research hub for knowledge based industries. While Hindustan Antibiotics, the first public sector pharmaceutical company founded in 1950, was instrumental in creating acorporate culture in the social life of Pune in the immediate post ndependent era, National Chemical Laboratory and BAIF Laboratories have played an enormous role for the growth of this city to become an attractive estination for the research oriented pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies. NCL, which has made remarkable contribution to the growth of Indian research capabilities in applied and industrial chemistry, has turned to be an important research partner to the pharmaceutical sector not only in the country but internationally.
