For the encouragement of CSR activities...
The B. G. Deshmukh Award was instituted in 2008. This Award aims to encourage corporates to inculcate CSR as an integral part of their societal commitment in the field of health, education, livelihood creation, skill development and empowering the weaker sections of the society.
Small, medium and large scale enterprises, who have carried out CSR activity in the field of handicapped, education, health and hygiene, environment, safety, conservation of energy, water, waste management or any social field etc are eligible to apply.
Industries can also nominate units where CSR is in practice.
